Modeshift Stars - Bronze Award

In September 2019 we were delighted to be awarded our Modeshift Stars Bronze Award. Councillor Wayne Daley came to present us with this award.

Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel. The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.

Our bronze award was the result of lots of work in school to promote active and sustainable travel. Activities included: Walk to School Week, Bike Week, Walking Rocks, Park and Stride and Wheely Wednesdays.  Our aim is to get as many pupils as possible walking at least part of the way to school. As a result, we will reduce congestion at the front of school and make this a safer place for pedestrians and our pupils on their way to school.
